Havana Swing are a five member band, playing music since the 1980s and are well respected within the Jazz Manouche and Hot club field of music.   

Havana Swing came to us requesting a web design to reach a wider audience with there unique style of music.

The website had to have a fresh feel and appeal to the entertainment industry. This website would also be required to manage the selling and promotion of their music. 

The design had have a slick presentation to be appreciated by the music industry and its fans.

After investigation, together with Havana Swing, we came to realise that a flash based website would give the required impact and interactive functionality required to meet the needs of the band and their intended audience.

Since the main focus was the music, to promote the band it was very important to incorporate sample music tracks to demonstrate there unique talents as well as a method of securely purchasing the full albums from the website.

It was important to incorporate the history of the band into the site including band videos, galleries and individual band member profiles for the fans.

The proposed site delivered on this message by having the ability to listen to the bands music while browsing the site enriching the experience. For fans there is a comprehensive set of links ranging from a MySpace page, performance venues and instrument material websites.

The site was designed to give visitors an insight into the Havana Swing experience.

The design provides a comprehensive set of audio controls providing:

• Play, pause and stop buttons
• Skip back and forward between sample tracks
• Control volume and audio balance
• Track details including progress bar, time played, track name and numbered position in the list

These controls are available throughout the website allowing for un-interrupted playback of the tracks selected while browsing.

The site also features videos of the bands in action as well as an interactive gallery.

It was important to promote the bands music so there is a display of albums available to purchase on the home page, these link to the section that allows for purchasing of there music.

To purchase the music a Paypal shopping cart was integrated into the website as they have a very simple and efficient process to purchase items as well as comprehensive security on the site during the transaction. 

The band page delivers profiles of each individual members and the history of the band itself.
