Project synopsis

Run by Steven Dewar, Curr & Dewar are the oldest and most respected auction house in Tayside and pride themselves on being a family run business for 4 generations. Their reputation has been built diligently over the centuries.

Curr & Dewar have moved with the times and offer an auction and valuation service that is relevant to today’s market. People travel from all over Tayside, Angus, Fife and Perthshire to buy and sell at the Curr & Dewar sales.

Curr & Dewar primarily specialise in the auction of Antiques, Quality Furniture and Collectables.

The only thing that Curr & Dewar were not the best at, it seemed, was being the best auction service on-line.

Steven and Tayfusion worked closely together to build the auction service into their website. The new site allows bidders to register and leave bid notices for the sale day, if they are unable to attend.

The Curr & Dewar auctions run every 2 weeks, and they are huge. Every auction has between 650 and 800 items... Every one of these auction items needed to be uploaded, managed and well presented by the site. That's a lot of items! Not only that, but the member bids required management and tracking...

Needless to say, these tasks are very time consuming for Steven, so Tayfusion set about solving the time problem...

What we did:

  • Built and import/export system to tie in with his in-house auction tool
  • Provided quick view outputs of bid so he could easily sync them
  • Built a mobile app to allow Steven to quickly manage the hundreds of photos
  • Build a item management tool so he could quickly make edits

The website, it management savings and the mobile app have been a great success.

The mobile app alone saves Steven a whole day of administration every two weeks...

I would like to state how much the new website that Tayfusion designed has meant to me.

One week ago my business was almost failing, then the new website turned things around. Those who saw it immediately bought my services and so many firm orders have come in that I am already on my way to my first million.

Because of this my wife has decided not to leave me after all and, at long last, we got the kids out of the foster home. I say at long last as they are now 27 and 26 respectively.

This has all cheered me up so much that my long-standing severe acne problem has cleared itself, my halitosis has all but disappeared and – baffling to medical science – after 30 years of trying I am now able to walk unaided.

Perhaps the biggest surprise came this week, when I discovered that the kids had come up with an amendment to Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, an amendment which not only will transform accepted thinking on the origins of the universe but will also enable the total eradication of world poverty within one month.

Don’t even think about it – if you want to get ahead, get a website from Tayfusion.
